"Gabba"

Who would like a piece of sailing club and Gladstone history?  Am cleaning out Mum's shed and selling the famous "Gabba" to a young family who would like to restore and use her the way she was meant to be.  Designed and built in the 50's as a rowing dingy for the father in law, by the late Noel Patrick, for use on the Boyne River.  After the passing of the father in law in 1968, this dingy spent most of it's life being towed behind Wistari from one end of the coastline to the other.  It was integral in the writing of "Cruising the Curtis Coast" and featured on the very first cover.  In the 1970's it was converted to double as a sailing dingy with a main and jib and a clever two piece mast for ease of stowage.  She was the only club adult Learn to Sail boat until the club started buying Corsairs.  Many sailors in Gladstone learnt to sail in this dingy, including myself.  In a decent breeze with a Sharpie spinnaker we even kept up with club Cherubs in her.  The rig and foils are still in fair and useable condition.  The hull and trailer need only modest repairs and a coat of paint.  Please let another generation enjoy this boat.  Will cost just $100 and a pledge to restore her to allow another generation of children learn to row and sail in her.
